Local MP Guy Opperman has visited the Dipton Mill Inn and Hexhamshire brewery to look at the progress of renovations at the pub.
The visit comes as Guy Opperman visits a range of hospitality venues across Tynedale and Ponteland to encourage everyone to go for a pint and support their local.
The Brooker family bought the pub in 1989 and have successfully run the pub ever since. Geoff passed on the premises onto his son Mark in 2015 and Janet continues to cook superb food for those enjoying the brilliant local walks.
The pub has undertaken renovations and reopened last week. The brewery has stayed open throughout the pandemic.
Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jones film set are even thought to have tried Northumberland County IPA whilst filming in the North East – enjoying a good pint of Hexhamshire brewery beer!
Guy Opperman is appealing to local residents to support Mark and Janet by visiting the pub and ordering beer from Hexhamshire brewery.
After the visit, Guy Opperman said:
‘’It was fantastic to see Mark and the team and the progress that has been made with the renovations to the pub.
The Hexhamshire brewery is open for business, so please support our local publicans by visiting the pub in person and ordering the delicious Hexhamshire brewery beer because if we don’t use our local pubs, we’ll lose them’’.
Residents can order the beer from Hexhamshire brewery online by visiting: www.hexhamshire.co.uk.
Owner, Mark Brooker said:
‘’It was great to host Guy at the pub to discuss how we had faired through COVID and our plans for the future. We are fortunate to have a local MP who recognises the value of local pubs and takes the time to come out and understand what matters to us’’.
