Hexham MP, Guy Opperman joined Zoe from Tyne Valley Ices to congratulate her on Ice Cream Van of the Year for 2022.
Tyne Valley Ices was founded in 1974 by Zoe’s parents and has a fleet of ice cream vans as well as manufacturing and wholesaling ice cream and sauces made in a factory just outside Hexham.
Tyne Valley Ices work as a key fundraiser for the Great North East Air Ambulance and they continue to sponsor the local Hexham girls football team.
The business took a health before wealth approach when covid hit and focused on the Health of the community first. They used their delivery van to get supplies to Slaley shop.
Guy Opperman MP said:
‘Huge congratulations to Zoe for winning Ice Cream Van of the year!
She completely deserves it. She works flat out in the community, the ice cream is amazing and she is utterly committed to her customers.’
Zoe Phillipson said:
‘Guy was keen to learn more about the locally manufactured products of ours (both ice cream and topping sauces) and supporting the business in the future.
We attend local events, work places and weddings.
We look forward to Guy joining us again in the summer for some much needed practice on ice cream making and how we work together to encourage local businesses.’
