The 2021 Tynedale Jobs Fair, which will take place on Friday 22nd October from 10am-3pm at the Wentworth Centre, Hexham, is being held in collaboration with the Hexham Jobcentre and sponsored by Essity.
Last held in 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Tynedale Jobs Fair brings together many of Northumberland’s biggest employers with local residents who are searching for their next job.
Employers and businesses from a range of sectors will be in attendance, from hospitality and retail to manufacturing and transport.
Sponsored by Prudhoe-based manufacturer Essity, confirmed attendees at this year’s Jobs Fair include Northern Rail, British Volt, Aldi, McDonalds and many more.
For the first time ever, this year’s event will also feature a Kickstart zone, promoting the Government’s Kickstart Scheme which helps to pay the wages for 16–24-year-olds currently on Universal Credit.
This year’s Jobs Fair will also feature a dedicated CV writing area, run by recruitment company Reed in Partnership. Creating the perfect CV is one of the key stages of getting a job, and Reed in Partnership will be on hand to give local job-seekers tips and advice on how to put together an eye-catching and impressive CV to show off their unique skills and experience.
Speaking ahead of the event, Hexham MP Guy Opperman said:
“This year’s Jobs Fair is back and more important than ever, as businesses continue to reopen and we look to get the region’s economy back up and running.
“I am delighted that so many employers have signed up to attend and look forward to meeting local residents who are looking for work. My thanks to Essity for their kind sponsorship of the event and to Chris Howard and the Hexham Jobcentre for their invaluable help in making this the best Tynedale Jobs Fair yet.”
‘’If you are looking for work, to return to work after a break from employment, or for a change in career, then please do come along on 22nd October at the Wentworth Leisure Centre in Hexham, from 10am to 3pm’’.
Chris Howard, Hexham Jobcentre said:
"It is really encouraging that so many local and regional employers have vacancies to fill and are willing to support this great event. This is a fantastic opportunity for persons in Tynedale - whether you are claiming Universal Credit or not-to find your next job or career."
