Hexham MP Guy Opperman has heralded the 17th May as a great opportunity for residents in the Tyne Valley and Ponteland to get out and enjoy the fantastic array of fully re-opened local pubs, cafes, restaurants, hotels, shops, theatres and cinema. The easing of the Covid 19 restrictions this Monday has been long awaited and it means for the first time in many months family and friends are able to gather inside under the rule of six and people can enjoy socialising in a more normal way.
Guy Opperman MP said:
‘It has felt like a very long and hard winter and spring, and I know we have all been looking forward with excited anticipation to this next stage of the easing of restrictions. It is thanks to the hard work and dedication of the NHS vaccination teams, and the selfless discipline so many have shown in following the restrictions, that we can now cautiously and carefully begin to re-emerge to a more normal way of life. Employing our innate British common sense, I hope we will now take this opportunity to back our local hospitality and entertainment sectors and enjoy all there is to offer here Northumberland.’
