Job - Casework and Communications Assistant

Role: Casework and Communications Assistant (3 days per week, to be reviewed after 3-month probationary period)

Location: Hexham Constituency Office

Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales

Principal responsibilities include:

  • General administrative tasks and dealing with queries from constituents
  • Gather relevant information to assist with resolving constituency cases
  • Coordinate the response to mass email campaigns
  • Work as part of the team in following up social media queries and comments and maintaining fresh stories on the MP’s blog
  • May attend surgeries and other meetings as appropriate with the MP

Skills required:

  • Ideally suit someone looking for an entry level role in a parliamentary office
  • Enthusiastic self-starter, willing to become an integral part of a small team
  • High standard of written English and good attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation, administrative and IT skills
  • Capability and willingness to learn and operate the casework management software
  • Sympathetic to the aims of the Conservative Party
