Guy Opperman founded the Greenbelt Protection Group in Parliament. Guy has passionately led the campaign against plans to build on the Greenbelt in our area, especially in Ponteland and Hexham.
Although the County Council is determined to push on with it's plans, Guy and local campaigners are trying to reduce the numer of houses planned for our Greenbelt.
Guy has also helped opposed new opencasting across the constituency and led ‘community clean up days’ across the area inclduing an annual clean up of Hexham's historic Market Place.
